Introduction

Dear Supporters and Patrons:

Welcome to the Dehkontee Artists Theatre, Inc. (DATI) Programs and Services page/brochure.  DATI has a variety of results-driven research and performance-based African-centered services and programs for the 2016-2017 season that we believe may interest you. Our programs are especially designed for children and their families, as well as for school districts, county, state, and federal agencies, colleges, and universities, that may be very interested in fostering cultural diversity, conflict resolution and Afrocentric literacy packages. For instance, our target audiences range from children six years of age through adulthood and including the elderly. Interestingly too, we combine elements of the performing and visual arts, along with postmodern teaching and learning theories and practices to provide and communicate messages of peace, reconciliation, and to promote multiculturalism among diverse audiences in our schools and communities. Also, DATI’s core staff are trained in various areas of the performing and visual arts and behavioral sciences. They are prepared to help address the learning and entertainment needs of our diversified audience members through several different artistic media such as: the publication and production of African children’s readers, plays, poems, short stories for elementary and high school grade levels, as well as for collegiate studies.  READ MORE
